Keep Collier Beautiful (KCB) invites Collier County residents to volunteer for the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at select beaches, creeks, canals, and parks throughout Collier County.
KCB is currently seeking volunteer site captains for a variety of locations. Site captains play a vital role in making the cleanup a success. Responsibilities include picking up supplies from WM (Waste Management) a day or two before the event, arriving at their assigned site by 7:45 a.m. on the day of the cleanup, placing signage to direct volunteers, greeting and checking in volunteers, distributing supplies, taking photos, and encouraging volunteers to report their cleanup findings afterward. Interested site captains must email keepcollierbeautiful2021@gmail.com to confirm their participation.
Community members are also encouraged to nominate additional locations in Collier County that they would like to see included in this year’s cleanup. Residents with a canal, park, or shoreline in mind are invited to email their suggestions to keepcollierbeautiful2021@gmail.com.
Volunteer registration is now open at keepcollierbeautiful.com. Pre-registration is requested so that enough supplies can be allotted for each location. Local teachers looking for a hands-on ecology lesson for their students, along with businesses, civic organizations, and government agencies, are welcome to join. Volunteer service hours are available for pre-registered students. The final list of cleanup locations will be posted on the website.
The International Coastal Cleanup was founded by the Ocean Conservancy, with local efforts spearheaded by Keep Collier Beautiful and its partner organizations. The community-wide cleanup brings together volunteers, local businesses, and municipalities to support Collier County’s unique environment. Through ongoing partnerships, Keep Collier Beautiful helps support litter prevention, education, and community cleanup programs.
